I've screwed my new noveske nsr hand guard

I put the barrel nut on, it was a little bit of a snug fit around the barrel. I screwed it on to the upper using a torque wrench set to 30lbft. I then tried to loosen it, it would not budge then something let go, the barrel extension pin broke or came out. I unscrewed the barrel from the upper, but can not get the noveske barrel nut off the barrel. I tried heat but no luck.

Anyone have any great ideas how to separate the barrel from the nut without ruining both.

I assume if I ever separate the two I'll my smith turn the barrel a few thousands

I finally got the two separated, screwed up the nut a bit. I broke the pin and now have to try to recover the broken half.

Contact Noveske after Shot Show is over. They have great customer service and I'm willing to bet they will send you another part.

Bought a new rail from them and it had the wrong barrel nut. The store I bought it from gave me a barrel nut out of another box and noveske shipped the shop replacement barrel nuts the same day to replace all the bad barrel nuts. Really glad they did that as I was on R&R and didn't have the time to wait for an entire replacement assembly. They have my business for that one should they ever have an item that meets my needs again.
