The power should be stamped on the rear eye piece lock ring. 1773 is the serial #. How the hell would i know what it was mounted on

Photos would help a lot, if you can post some it would be easier to see what you have. If the serial number is as you say it would be a very early scope, possibly in Lyman mounts.
