I just wanted to say thank you for answering several of my questions and helping to point me in the right direction. Over the last month and a half I've gone from 242# to 213# and started back on the weights Wednesday.

Thanks again guys.

I've never seen J but, from what I've heard, it's very doubtful I'll ever look like him. Bowed up is an understatement

I cut out all cokes, cakes, sweets, candy, energy drinks, white bread and anything that contained fructose corn syrup. I replaced that with whole wheat grain bread, nuts, dried fruits, fruit, water or un-sweat tea, subway low fat 6" subs and an occasional diet drink. I still have a decent dinner with the wife at home but absolutly no junk during the day or at night.

Amazingly the weight just started falling off with just the diet change. Two weeks ago I started using a protein supplement and mixing it with 1 cup of 2% low fat milk, 1 banana and a handful of either, washed and drained pineapple or blueberries and three strawberries. 2 shakes per day, one when I get up and another around 1500-1700 hrs. I just needed to slim down my mid section and get that porno body back

When I increased my protein intake that helped even more. The protein powder is 23 grams per servings plus the fruit I add and what ever I take in from food during the day like baked chicken, veggies’ and such.

The thing I've really learned is this, it's more about your eating habits than anything else. The exercise helps but, if you eat junk, that’s what your body is trying to operate on. The wrong diet just promotes fat storage and you end up weighing 242#'s

Re: JJones75 and Trooper Brian

you gotta think of your body like a high end sports car ,if you want it to function at its peak then you have to put the best fuel in it , if you feed it sub part fuel its performance suffers alot.
Same with the body , the highly refined foods that we have come to count on as Americans is like trying to run a Bugotti on farm grade fuel , it may operate but not well.

Try little things like substituting some of your tea with Green Tea , it has lots of good anti oxidents and doesn't cause some of the kidney issues that drinking to much regular tea does , also try using Stevia as a sweetener its a much better alternitive than Splenda as is natural honey.

the protein shakes with fruit are a great meal replacement good carbs from the fruit and the protein that the body wants to maintain the muscle you have.

Its amazing what even 15 pounds of weight loss will do you for , typicaly people say that they are sleeping better and their joits dont hurt as bad , you wind goes way up pretty fast which leads to longer or slightly more intense exercise sessions which leads to more weightloss. even a 5% drop in body weight from just cutting out sodas whill typical drop your blood pressure a significant amount do to the reduced amount of fluid around the heart. when the body is not happy or sick it retain fluid , like in a sprained ankle its the bodys way of trying to heal , when you diet is bad the whole body will retain water as a type of defense.

Major kudos to you Mr Roscoe , and this is also a good time to point out that their was no radical diet , just a few simple dietary changes and has led to a dramatic change in body composition. I bet your family Dr will be very happy to see the results.

Re: JJones75 and Trooper Brian

Alot of it is the light and the damn black and white photo but my legs and forearms are always real vascular , even in 12-15% bodyfat i have several big veins in my quads that stand out. I jumped into that show kind of last min after starting my post compitition feeding from a show 5 weeks earlier , the guy that sponsers me said it was realy important to do this one so i realy busted my ass to try and get back down to contest shape in 3'weeks and it just dident happen i needed drop a bit more maybe 5'lbs to get back to a respectibe bf% i was about 7% their and i miss timed my carb load do to trying to deplete down as far as possible . Typicaly i'll load on monday and tuesday then "fill , spill and clean up the mess" wednesday-friday night by water manipulation this time i tried to "shit load" friday evening and i was so depleted that i dident peak till sunday bout lunch time
But for some reason my legs get real hard and grainy before my upper body wich is opposite of most guys

Re: JJones75 and Trooper Brian

i got a friend, and at his last 2 shows he had deeply striated glutes, quads, and hams....but he was blurry in his obliques...it looks pretty funny..he doesnt think so though...i told him he could win if they allowed him to compete in a tank top
