Hey guys, so I recently picked up an LRP-07H and so far its seems to be a fantastic rifle. I haven't shot it yet but I really like it so far. Much, much lighter than my GAP-10.

In addition I ordered the silent capture spring as well as some rails and a heat sink.

After getting it setup I went to put the handguard back on and one the six torx screws stripped on me. The screw is fine but the barrel nut is the part that stripped. I wasn't using any excessive force or anything like that. It was clearly a defect.

Now here's the deal. I'm not the original owner of the rifle. I bought it out of an estate sale and presumably the original owner never even fired it. From the looks of it, this is most likely correct. Even though I wasn't the original purchaser, do you guys think JP will give me any help with the problem? I'm going to call them tomorrow but was curious if anyone else has had any similar experiences. Thanks!

Definitely call JP!!!

Those guys are extremely helpful. I have 2 JP rifles and fortunately have had no "warranty" issues, but everyone there seems very willing to help for whatever reason.

Give 'em a call.

+1 on calling JP tomorrow and speaking with CS regarding your issue. Generally speaking, JP will bend over backwards in most cases to help out their customer base whether the "issue" involved was the fault of JPE, a product flaw, etc., etc. or just plain stupid end-user error/malfunction (not directed toward you at all, but it happens). ;)

Best case...they'll send you a replacement bbl nut for the handguard and screw. Worst case...they'll sell you a bbl nut for the handguard and the replacement screw. Either way...problem solved. Good luck and be sure to report back with your results once you've spoken to them. Additionally...I should add that they may request you return the damaged/flawed components to receive replacements...no big deal, but just be sure you don't "pitch" anything in the meantime.
