I had an interesting experience with my AR10 this past weekend. It’s a high quality AR10 with a 22” +2 gas Proof Research Steel barrel in 6.5 Creedmoor. It was shooting ok but not great with some HDY American Gunner 140 grain ammo so I decided to play with the buffer spring. I went from a standard buffer spring to a JP Silent Captured Spring (H2 Version) and my Groups immediately tightened up. It went from a 1 ish MoA gun to a 5/8” 5 shot group gun. All I swapped out was the spring.

Just thought I would share my experience and results.

I had a similar experience today with my home built Aero M5. It has high quality parts as well but a standard buffer system. I dropped in a JP Silent Capture H2 buffer and tuned the gas system so it was just barely past the point of bolt hold open on the last round. My groups tightened up immediately by about .2 and the recoil impulse was noticeably softer.

I was able to spot my impacts at 200 yards and recoil didn't knock me off target at all. I wish I had installed an SCS a looong time ago :| For a 308 gas gun, I'll call this good.

Good to know it helped you as well. I’m definitely sold on that setup!

Was that a jp scs 15H2 or a jp scs10H2… I already have the 15H2 and I wanna see if it works in an lr308 set up without having to buy a whole new scs
