So there seems to be a lot of misinformation about running a Gen 4 G19 Barrel in a Gen 3 G23. Out of necessity tonight for lack of .40 ammo I had to change over to 9mm. I ran a stock Gen3 23 frame, slide and guide rod and literally just dropped in the Gen 4 9mm barrel. It worked flawless and I even won the match.
i just wanted to share my tested experience with this to help clear things up.

I've heard hit and miss accounts on the reliability and extractor engagement when doing this. Glad it worked out for you and thanks for the info.
