I don't really expect anyone to pay attention to this, but my name is Ian and I'm here to learn as much as I can about selecting parts for and building a custom long range semiautomatic rifle. I figured it'd be a good idea to post here before jumping into a normal forum and wasting my breath in the wrong place.
However, if anyone has any input, this is the sort of thing I'm here to find:
-Preferrably an AR/DMR style upper, chambered for anything larger than 7.62x51
-A fitting lower receiver
-An appropriate accurate, durable barrel of at least 22"
-An adjustable stock with a cheek riser
-Appropriate optics for mid-long range.
The price point is not particularly relevant, as I'm looking at a long term investment that would be built in stages.
In any case, I'm looking forward to finding others who share the love and thrill of a well-placed round at any range.
