I am considering a new 624i but have an opportunity to buy a used 525i for roughly the same money. I was looking for a used 624 but I have a 624 already and love the AMR reticle, and those don't seem to come up very often.
I have no experience with the 525 - is the 525 a no-brainer for the same money, or not much of a difference overall?

I like my k525i better than I liked my k624i but differences are minute. Based on typically seen used prices, I’m not so sure that the k525i is $700 better optically but it’s the newer scope with a couple more reticle options and a better eye box. A 624i around $1800 is a lot of damn value. A 525i around $2500 is a lot of damn value.

So at $2600 for a brand new 624, or $2600 for a used 525, you would go with the 525?

i wouldnt put any premium for a "New" scope versus one that is used. especially on the high end market where most scopes are babied or are simply safe queens.

in todays market, unless its some reticle that you cant find and really want, buying a 624i brand new at $2600 is insane to me. looking around the PX here you can find them $2100 with rings all day long and many times even cheaper. if you buy the 624i new, its immediately worth about $600 less, if you wanted to sell it for some reason.

so, i think the $2600 for a 525 would be a much better deal.

The k624i can be had new for 2300$ I just picked one up early fall in skmr as a hunting optic. I do love the scope, see very little advantage to the 525i. I have 3 k624i, one skmr3 other 2 are regular skmr.

I'm looking for the AMR reticle. Could you point me in the direction of a new one for $2300?
