More often than not it takes a few tries before the atmosphere conditions upload from the Kestrel for me . Hardly ever does mine sync right up. I don't think Shooter "locks up" up on me though, whatever you mean by that.

I had two apps on my phone and I know one of them was also causing some issues with Shooter. It wasn't allowing Shooter to auto populate the weather from my phone (this was before I had a Kestrel). I deleted them both at the same time so I'm not 100% sure which one was the culprit, but the one app was an "App killer" to preserve battery life, and the other was some anti-virus/spyware app, don't remember the names of either one.
Probably not a bad idea to delete AVG and see if anything improves.

If I load shooter and get to the menu where the atmospheric variables are input, THEN turn on the Droid bluetooth interface it works every time. Otherwise I have to exit Shooter, turn off bluetooth and start over. I uninstalled some battery manager program and AVG to no avail.

I run shooter with BT 4500NV on Droid X2 and have advanced taskiller free and AVG with no problems. But you have to remember to make sure BT is on with 4500NV first then open shooter. You should be good for the day.
