Kestrel 5700 assistance

Ok, I've changed elevation and windage on this before (mil-moa, etc) and now it won't "save" I turned it off and was able to change one gun and then unable on the next. The battery is getting low, show's 20% when turned on. Think that may be it? Forgot to say, I removed the battery and reinstalled when successful making the one change.


Replaced the battery and no change. I did get in touch with Kestrel and the very nice lady talked me through trying to update the device and now waiting for a cable to do it via the computer. We were unable to get my phone to link with it to update it. Mine is older and the firmware, etc isn't allowing it.

Not sure if that will fix it as they did not show any oddities with my version and the inability to make changes for windage and elevation. I can change other values and they will remain, aka "save"

I may try to delete the gun and re enter tomorrow?

Over in the other thread if your framework is too old, you can update it with the kestrel weather app first, then you can update the rest of it through the ballistics one.

That's one of the things we tried, but it wouldn't connect. Checked the permissions, bluetooth enabled, even uninstalled and reinstalled the apps. I may try again tomorrow to see, if not the direct cable and instructions I was sent hopefully will.

Its weird, I can change the elevation and windage, it will show the updated data on the screen but once I go to another gun and back, it goes back to the old setting.

We also did the hard restart.

I have an iPhone X and when it won’t pair with the Kestrel I reboot the phone and it fixes the pairing issue.

Yea I was having problems too, then when I put in a new battery and set my phone and kestrel on top of the router to make sure I had a good connection, it ended up working.
