Am I to assume that I shouldn't try to split hairs and consider this trued. My DOF is 189 I am not sure if I can call the wind on the horizontal, but it was a solid .4 mil right hold.

I typically only worry about the vertical when truing.

Also, keep in mind you have wind1 on. So it’s factoring in aerodynamic jump. Personal preference if you want that or not. Just pointing it out.

If I turn wind 1 to 0 which wind bracket do I go with. I get 2 values.

Not sure what you’re asking exactly. But you can turn wind 1 to zero to get the elevation, then turn it back on if you need help with wind call.

Most don’t use the kestrel all that much for wind unless it’s some big wind or very gusty.

When using it for wind, I usually just use wind2 to get an idea what it’s doing and make a wind call with that + what I’m observing up and down the range.

You just true the vertical.
Wind call is on you.
Kestrel can only help a bit on the wind but in the end it’s still your call.

It will tell you the distance it want you to true on or near.
If your zero is good and you true up at that approximate Distance it in my experience it’s pretty much GTG unless you have some good in the inputs.

So all in all the vertical is probably the best I am capable of doing. Thanks guys. I'm new to this whole Kestrel thing and learning as I go.
Yes
I don’t even bother with wind when trueing.

If the target doesn’t have a waterlines (and none of them do cuz I don’t Want others to easily see them) I just the use the horizontal line As a reference and mil the target and use half its Value as an aiming point at the top
