Kestrel 5700 screen is all black

Used my 5700 the other day worked perfectly, fired it up today and the screen is all black, changed the battery, still solid black. Linked it up to my phone and the readings are all correct and displayed on my iPhone just fine, I just can’t see anything on the kestrel screen.... anybody have any tricks before I send it back for repair?

Take the battery out, then turn it on and press a bunch of buttons for about 30 seconds. Might have a residual charge, fully draining it by pushing buttons might do the trick. Sounds to me like the lcd or a connector took a shit though.

Yes, but it wasn’t crazy hot I live in wester Washington

If that is when it turned black I would say the LCD display has bled out and the screen needs replaced.
