Kestrel Drop D3 sync with the Shooter app

Does anyone know if the Kestrel Drop D3 will sync up and work just as well as a Kestrel 5000 with link to the Shooter app? I'm really just looking for a cheaper option for something to input via Bluetooth to my phone (Google Pixel 2XL) for atmospheric conditions.

I take it you didn’t bother to read the app description/features

The D3 works well but tie some cord on the loop and spin it about like the 5700 to clear the sensors.

Well, maybe I should have worded the question a little better. Have you used the Kestrel Drop D3 with the app or are you just going on what the description/features section said. Not trying to be a smart ass, just looking for any real world experience with running the app with a Kestrel Drop D3.
