Hi everyone,
I am thinking about getting a Kestrel 5700. Can anyone give some real world feedback? Are they user friendly? What are your likes? Dislikes?

Thanks,
Bang

Just posted this in another thread: I have a 5700 AB and I love it! Some of the best gear money I have spent. It is simple to use and you can upload gun profiles directly from your iPhone or android via Bluetooth .

It's a mil-spec piece of gear that is meant to be used in the field. One of the best features is the wind vane. With that you can set it up on a tripod and get your come-ups on your phone within Bluetooth range. This is nice if you have changing winds you want real-time data.

My only complaint is the BT disconnecting when you leave the app. Hoping they will go back to the option of leaving it connected in future updates....

It is one of the best pieces of equipment that I have purchased. I started with the Sportsmans model because I bought it used from another hide member at a great deal. Learned how to use it and then upgraded the FW to make it an Elite.

It is incredibly useful and the solver is spot on at the distances I shoot (600 yards max 85% of the time). It required a little truing the couple of times I have taken it beyond 600 yards (7.62x51 cartridge with 175 grain SMK).
