I tried a new color tonight for a shooter in NY, "Gun Metal Blue". I had my doubts as to how the rifle would look when finished. When sprayed onto cardboard to set the nozzle, it was blue ......and very blue it was. When the rifle was coated though it changed colors and took on a deep bluing job look. Once cured its very slick like in lubricity slick. I just thought I'd mention it in case there was someone out here that wanted a painted rifle but didn’t want to give up the blued look. Ask your coater to use this if the blued look is what you’re after and using a stainless barrel.

Nothing special, just a sporter weight hunting rifle, I just did the metal work. It looks black in the photo but it has a deep, dark blue look in person. Get the flash just right and it has a bright blue look.

No, the stock is in NY with the owner, I dont even have the trigger, he'll be doing the stock work. I think your right though, in a classy piece of wood it'd look great for an old school hunting rifle.

Wood isnt my thing..........a man has to know his limitations.

Wow, I will have to try that color now! I was skeptical too and have avoided ordering it. Actually talked a few guys out of that color. Figured it was like the old Chrome Paint days as a kid, it never looked like the cap!

I was reading on some forum where a guy would paint and bake then lightly sand with superfine sand paper, then paint again, then repeat a couple times to create a deep glass like appearance. I bet that would look awesome in deep blue.

Looks great.
