As much as I love KG3 aerosol degreaser, it's getting hard to find and expensive. I was in the auto parts store and found some CRC pro strength degreaser. Water based degreaser just like kg3 at half the price. Has anyone ever used this on their firearms? It's supposedly an "all purpose" safe to use on plastics and such.

I have used a fair amount of 33% Simple Green in my heated ultrasonic cleaner. I also use Denatured Alcohol and low
order mineral spirits and Lacquer thinner. They are all reasonably safe for most gun stuff. Be careful with the LT when working
around Lacquered stocks.
I reserve Acetone for really difficult things and then only after I have tested it on a hidden surface.
It is pretty aggressive stuff and can melt a lot of different plastics.

You can buy squeeze bottles and spray bottles from McMaster Carr or even from Walmart around the hair car products.

I use my HUC most on my CANs. I hate cleaning them manually.

I really like EZZOX and Renaissance Wax too. Virtually every gun I buy gets broken down to an individual part level and cleaned
with a toothbrush. I don't refinish them but clean them as good as possible. Threads get waxed and heads get turned into
the proper orientation.
