300 Win Mag Kimber Patrol Tactical. Does anyone have any experience with this rifle ??? Thinking about purchasing one but would like any input from experianced users on accuracy and dependability. Will be used for long range past 1000 yards, not interested in other rifle recommendations just thoughts on this rifle,
Thanks

The guys who like Kimber rifles swear by them.

Everyone else swears at them . They are very hit or miss regarding accuracy and repeatability. The good ones are great and the rest definitely aren't . Exceptionally poor customer service to boot , it's your money, spend it as you wish .

Ditto on the post above , I only wish their were some smiths that like to work on them . My brother in-law has a Montana in 300WSM that won't group for shit even in a lead sled . I told him the barrel was to skinny and it takes practice to shoot a lite rifle accurately and he is a good shot , his old 03A3 is still MOA but the Montana is far from it !

I don't have a patrol tactical, but have an advanced tactical II in 300 win mag. I can't say enough good things about this rifle. The rifle is a consistent sub .5 moa rifle. It is definitely worth the price. I had a (big name) custom builder look at the rifle and state that he wouldn't do a thing to the rifle because of its consistency. I was pretty shocked. I was going to buy the patrol tactical, but decided to just have that builder make me a rifle instead. I own quite a few other Kimber rifles and am completely satisfied with all of them. I doubt you will be disappointed. And about the customer service, I've used them and never had a problem. Not sure what other individuals are talking about.

Kimber guarantee's 1 MOA accuracy on all their rifles except for a few that are 1/2 MOA, from what I've read they are all fired from a vise at the factory and must pass these test before they leave the plant. I would think that bad accuracy would be more of a loose or broken scope issue, bad ammo or possibly operator error. I would contact Kimber and try to get them to rectify the problem if I owned a rifle that did not perform as advertised
