I have a Knight's free float forearm that is already put on an upper. I am not familiar with it and trying to switch it over to another upper. Can I screw it off with a strap wrench, or is there something else needed?

Re: Knight forearm question

If its the URX you will need some pretty fancy tools to get it off. If its the older handguards then its a bit easier. Need more info on this question.....

Re: Knight forearm question

It is the RAS free floating carbide length rail

Re: Knight forearm question

GB,

There should be two (2) indexing pins located in the barrel nut that extend into the rear of the RAS.

The best way to disassemble, is to back the RAS handguard nut off (towards the rear of the rifle). Once the nut is off, the RAS can be removed by pulling towards the front of the rifle (as long as the gas block has been removed).

A strap wrench should be sufficient on the hand guard nut.

Hope this helps.
