Rifle Scopes Konus scopes

Re: Konus scopes

I had an M30 6.5-25x44mm on a 17hmr, actually I just sold it. Nothing wrong with the optic. Just too heavy for what I needed in a hunting rifle for small game up here. the 6.5x on the lower end was just a little too much power for my liking at close ranges making quick shots. Not bad, just not what I wanted.

You'll find some mixed reviews about their tracking. The one I had tracked well enough for my needs and was repeatable. I only tested from about 330 yards back to 100 yards on the 17hmr which was only about 20 MOA depending on the conditions. I've dialed back and forth and shot without any zero shifts.

Lot of features for the money, glass is decent. The internal bubble level, while a good idea, is way too sensitive to use and I rarely used it. I think Optics planet has them on sale for about 270.00 shipped right now.

Konus has good customer service and lifetime repair/replacement policy on their m30 scopes.

It's not really worth trying to compare to Nightforce, USO, SB, or the higher end Vortex scopes, etc.... Not even in the same class. For a rimfire or a trainier, I think it fits well. Some guys have used them on their .308's and heavier recoiling rifles and have had good results.

Just my opinion. Hope that helps.

Re: Konus scopes

My brother uses the 6.5-25X44 M30 on his Remmy SPS Tactical in 308 and is very pleased with it. As previously noted SWFA has them on sale for $270. IMO good value for the money.

Re: Konus scopes

I have had a couple and for the price I must say they are not bad. Mine returned to zero vry well but was not 1/4moa. It was a little more than 1/4 click. It stayed the same but was not 1/4moa. the glass was pretty good and had a ton of features. I didnt keep it that long so I cant really say how the hold up. Just my .02
