I am deciding between the X-Ray and the McRee. Both companies have some outstanding customer service, and Scott McRee is about as outstanding an individual as it's been my pleasure to talk to. Both their chassis are excellent and both companies serve the shooting community exceptionally, which is what makes this decision so difficult. I realize the X-Ray is still in its infancy as far as use is concerned, but the W3 has been around long enough for me to expect nothing but great things from the X-Ray. The McRee G5 has been around longer than the X-Ray and has been very positively received.
From what I gather, both the X-Ray and the G5 have adjustable comb height. Both have adjustable LOP, with the McRee's being "mechanical", if you will, and the X-Ray being spacers. Both will drop in a Rem 700 barreled action with Timney trigger. I can run a spigot on the X-Ray to push my Atlas further forward, not sure what I can do on the G5. Both accept Ai or AI-styled magazines. Both are going to be relatively close price-wise. For those who are familiar with both chassis, which would be your choice and why?
