Okay, from the research I've done, I found that the #7 contour from Krieger is an M40 contour. Can someone please confirm? Thanks.

I have a M40 contour barrel from Krieger. They'll build anything you want them to build.
I called them and gave the dimensions that I wanted.
Finished length 24" 1.2 for 4" straight taper to .920.
This way you're guaranteed to receive the exact contour you're asking for.

Are we talking the M40A1 barrel contour, the M40 is the standard Rem varmint contour, roughly 1.125 ahead of the lug, 830 at the muzzle. M40A1 is as described above, Douglas makes a very good M40 style barrel, several Hide members have used them for their builds.

Sorry, M40A1. Thanks for the replies guys. With barrel makers, I sometimes see them as M40/M24 contour. I have also found that the contours actually vary somewhat in the M40A1's. I will probably go with dimensions like what swage posted.
