Heres my Krieger #9 cut to 26". Its pretty damn heavy. I may go lighter on the next rebarrel.

top rifle is a #10mtu, bottom is a rock#7max hv both finished @ 24

I have a barrel on order right now from Krieger and Ive been wondering if I should tell them to make it in the #9 heavy target profile instead of the mtu, it is going to have x6 1/4 flutes.
I just dont want it to be to heavy, I want the best accuracy out of it but I dont want it to be to heavy, this will be a good for everything rifle I'm hoping. its in 300wm with badger fte brake SS 26" 700 action.

Its fairly heavy. My rifle in the above pic with a stock pack weighs in at 15.5 lbs. unloaded. Its front heavy as well.

this is the closest that i have.....all together the rifle/scope weighs about 18 lbs.....i did shave some weight by putting a Hensoldt on top

I was worried about the weight of the mtu, so I went ahead with the #9 heavy target 26",which is 8.75dia at the muzzle, it has x6 1/4 flutes with a Badger FTE brake.
I hope it isnt going to look to skinny or be to light if I want to shoot competition later on. the rifle action and all asm is getting blueprinted in 300wm by krieger barrels. I figure"if they are good enuff to make the barrel, they must be able to do good smithing right?!?!?

My first 260 was trued and barreled by Kreiger. It turned out to be very accurate but heavy as hell, it's a #17 Heavy Varmint!!!
