I had to go to Oroville, CA last friday to pick up some steel for a job. Oroville is home to <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="color: #006600">RCBS</span></span>.
I brought along my 30+ year old RCBS powder scale (Model 10-10 by O' Haus but unmarked) to try and get a new 'tenth grain' scale that I lost on the shop floor many moons ago.
My Dad and I went to the front door and rang the buzzer. A man and a lady (Didn't get their names, Doh!) opened the door and allowed us in. The man told us that they are not open to the public on Fridays. I told him I was from out of town and didn't know or didn't remember. He saw me holding my old powder scale in my hand. He looked at it and confirmed it was an older model. He left the room to see what he could find. While we were waiting, the lady handed us a new catalogue. The man returned with a 'spankin new beam and fitted it to the scale. He explained how to zero the beam with lead shot. He then commented that my front leveling foot was broken. He left the room and came right back with a new foot and fitted it to the scale.
Both employees were knowledgable and helpful, talking with us like they had known us for years. Their service was fast and attentive. My Dad and I walked outside very impressed with their service. My Dad asked me if I was supposed to pay for the replacement parts. The way they treated us, I said I really didn't think so, but never thought to ask.
For those that imagine that RCBS is a giant Corporation, and may have the attitude of such, I can assure you that they treat their customers like any other 'home-town' business. They may have a lot of products, but they don't have a big corporate attitude when it comes to customer service.
RCBS has made dies for me in the past for some unusual cartridges, and their customer service has always been top-notch! I will continue to use RCBS whenever possible.
Thank you RCBS! My 30+ year old powder measure is back in service and as good as ever!

Re: KUDOS to RCBS !

RCBS just replaced a 223 swage die post. They are sending 2 in case I mess up another. No questions asked. They have also sent die screws, and a replacement sizing die piece, also no questions asked and here in a week. Hornady has done similar. For reloading companies, I feel we are well served by the big ones. (redding forester dillon rcbs hornady, in no particular order) All buisinesses could take some notes from this industry.
