It's a No.4
Has pressure stamps and conversion marks to 7.62x51.
Bolt, trigger and barrel are in very good condition.
The wood has a few marks, but that's part of the character.
I intend to use it in military rifle comps.
It's got the potential to be a fairly accurate rifle, and once kitted out, another bucket list item crossed off.
I was sorely tempted to purchase a real L42A1 that came up, but the owner was asking way too much, and was a bit of a prick.
I just love the look of the L42A1.
Yes it does, I also have four magazines from an auction years ago.
The rifle was in a bulk lot from an estate sale, I think.
Amazing what's lurking around the place.
I remember years ago, seeing 10 .303 barrels in a vegetable garden, used as stakes for tomato plants.
I bought five of them off the owner, they were still salvageable.
Went to fellow enthusiasts in the local rifle club.
My dad pushed me into that when I was a very young man. That was some fun stuff. I guess he thought I had too much spare time between the trap and skeet matches. Damnfine rifle ya got there.
My replica scope and mounts have arrived.
Pleased with optics, not too shabby.
Compared mount and scope to original...pfft.... bee's dick difference.
Looking forward to shooting it after the gunsmith has done the final tweaks.
Cheers, a mate of mine has a clone L42A1 over east.
Reckons we need to hunt and kill Yowies (Aussie Sasquatch) with them
Nothing like some armed camping and tabbing around the bush.
