I am going to use snipershide recommended method to find the max load for my 308. It is a 185 Berger juggernaut, Vv n550, cci 250 and Lapua brass. Have been loading the ladder from 41 up to 49grains. At about 48 grains it started to compress. Is there anything I should be aware off or reconsider if I get up to the compressed loads?

Any input is greatly appreciated! It is my first try going over book max so I’m kind of nervous...

As long as you know how to identify pressure signs you should be fine. Work up slowly & watch for excessive pressure.

You could also use a drop tube to get a couple more grains before the crunchy crunch.

You're using a magnum primers in a 308?
