Hi all,

I've searched the archives, and can't seem to find an answer - Two Lake City Brass cases, one says LC07 in the four corners, no NATO headstamp, and one that says LC07 with the NATO headstamp. Any real world difference in reloading or case composition? Thanks!

Re: Lake City 5.56 Brass headstamp question

None -- they're made on the same lines, machines, and alloys.

The NATO circle-cross stamp is for M855 Ball and M856 Tracer.

Standard LC stamp is for everything else.

I don't think so. I've got 193 ammo with the same littel circle-cross stamp you speak of.

Re: Lake City 5.56 Brass headstamp question

M193 isn't NATO standard ammunition.

Federal/ATK at Lake City Army Ammunition Plant may load runs with components that are left over from military runs (thus the "M193PD" and "XM193" commercial sale stuff).
