Lapua 284 and AMP

I need one Lapua 284 case to set the proper annealing index number for my AMP annealing machine. I have only 100 cases and do not want to sacrifice and then not have a full 100.

If you have tested the above and have a annealing number that would be sufficient for me.

The annealing setting varies by lot.

I am aware of that but still need the setting or one piece of brass.

The answer is 172 but don’t tell anyone or you might help them as no one here did for me

It’s 172 for the lot that you tested. It’s likely different for other lots. I hope it works for you. I have different lots of Lapua brass for one of my guns that have very different AMP settings. You don’t really know unless you test the lot you are using.

Mine is 169, but necks are turned to .013. A buddy I shoot with uses 173 for unturned brass with his lot of Lapua.
