Hi Guys,

I'm loading for my .338 Lapua Magnum. It has a 1.935 twist. I p/u some Lapua 300gr Scenars.
I could use some advice for the following:

What should be the COAL using this bullet?
What would be a good starting charge using H-1000?

I'm using Lapua brass and CCI Primers. I have had good luck using Berger 3d00gr. OTM Hybrids with 86gr-88gr. of H-1000 / Seated at 3.681.

Thanks.

I have a 338 Lapua with bartlein 1-9.7 twist. I have a hammer load with the Bergers 300 Hybrid with 92.0 H1000. I had originally worked up a load with 300 SMK that were 92.0 H1000 also and loaded some 300 Scenars with the same load, but at an OAL to feed from MAG. I think it was around 3.630. They shot ok, but so far nothing has worked as well as the 300 bergers with 92.0 H1000 around .015 from lands.

Hi Alan,

My barrel is also a Bartlien 30" .
I'm now dialing in the new stick. I've had very good results with the Berger 300gr.H-1000 powder with my Savage 110 BA .338LM.

However, I'm loading now between 86-88gr.
Seating at 3.681 for my new SAC .338LM.

I wanted to see how the 300 gr. Scenars did with the H-1000. Just looking for some starting info. I.e. Seating depth and and charging load.
