I need some information here on which type of mount to order. I am considering larue LT 112 or LT 111. This is the situation, I need a mount that I can use on both a LRB M25 and take off and use on the GAP HRT Rifle. I have a S&B 5-25x56 PM II H59 reticle and I need to be able to use this scope for both rifles. Or is there any other options I should consider. Also need to be able to add TPALs. Thanks

Re: Larue Tactical Mount

The LaRue one piece mounts suck on a bolt gun, even with adjustable cheek pieces. I would imagine it would suck on the LRB as well, they're really designed for AR pattern weapons with an inline stock. I guess the other option could be to get the individual QD rings if you absolutely have to be able to move the optic, but I'm really not a fan of QD mounts on high-powered rifles. I'd pick a gun and dedicate it to it (I'd go with the GAP) and save for another optic for the LRB.

Re: Larue Tactical Mount

I would check out the LT 120. it is slightly lower than the LT 111 but it will still fit with the 56 mm objective. Im in the process of saving up for that mount to switch between a couple bolt guns.

Todd Hodnett from accuracy first raves about these mounts and in the end they really save you alot of money.

Re: Larue Tactical Mount

I'm a big LaRue fan, but use Seekins for Bolt Guns. Height wise the LT-120 would be a better choice. I have an LT on my 762 OBR and that would be very high on a bolt gun.

As a LaRue fan I'd still look at good rings and a torque wrench.

Re: Larue Tactical Mount

As long as you have enough adjustment built into your stock, it doesn't matter if it sits high. Everybody always freaks out at it, but I've not seen one thing that suggests its actually bad so long as you can adjust the stock for a proper cheek-weld.

That said, LaRue mounts are rather low quality for their price range. Look at ADM, GDI, etc.
