You typically mount a Wilcox Raptar on top of a scope for reasons that can be further explained by someone who has one.
It’s easy once you get past the price and your particular sizing choices/issues…
Standard NV CNVD Clip-On heights are usually 1.53” or a little over 38mm. That’s why a lot of guys buy whichever brand mounts they choose, at the 1.5” height to co-witness a Scope with a Clip-On NV or Thermal device in front of the 1.5”/38mm Scope mounted height.
One would mount a Wilcox Raptar, Laser or LRF on a rail like a Spuhr A-0029 or A/B or C, (Different height & length Sizes, but all work on Spuhr Mounts) that screws onto the top of a Spuhr Mount. Other mounts are made as well, like Badger Ordinance Condition-One Mount with top rail mounts and other manufacturers are available as well.
The reason one mounts on top of Scope:
You can easily view and access your mounted device and it’s display with this top mount configuration and your device will have a free unobstructed target line of sight for the LRF, Laser or IR Illumination device used of your choice.
Devices frequently used include: (Laser/Illuminator/Light/SilencerCo SWR Radius LRF/Wilcox Raptar, etc.), and/or some devices w/ Remotes have the corded remote or switch close to the shooter to control the device while still being able to easily view the Raptar or Lasers operation display. Some of our eyes are not as good as they once were, so close is good and the displays are very small.
So additionally, to be physically close to whichever device your using and the controls, as well as being able to see the devices small displays.

If you decide to go with a diving board style mount look at one with 12 slots on the diving board. This will ensure the Range finder is fully supported by the rail mount and still allow you to use a remote. Some day optics with tall elevation turrets cause fitment issues with 9 slot diving boards.
