Everyday Law Enforcement Officers leave home for duty, we leave our families our spouses our kids never knowing if it's for the last time. All for the peace of our communities to assure our people that they don't have to live with the fear of crime and violence. Thanklessly we swear to protect and serve at any cost. Someone once said it takes a special person to run towards danger when everyone else is running from it, so today May 15th is the beginning of 'Police Officers Memorial week', take the time today to thank an Officer for what they do, and above all else, remember the ones who gave everything doing it.

Re: LAW ENFORCEMENT MEMORIAL WEEK

I posted this photo in another thread... but I was there in DC this past weekend.

Here is one of the pix, from the candlelight vigil. Approx 20,000 LE offices, survivors and families gather Fri. night in Judiciary Square. Very moving as the flame spreads from the podium to all the officers.

As of this year, just under 20,000 LE's have been killed in the line of duty since records started being kept c. 1789. The Memorial Wall lists all those known officers.

It is an outstanding event.

Thanks for starting this thread.

Cheers,

Sirhr
