Gave my new layman FH uniformer tool a try today. Adjusting it to only cut the .01" per the instructions is not easy. I did a couple pieces of brass and the flash holes look quite a bit larger than they originally did. Any tricks for using / setting up this tool?

I am concerned I am altering my brass too much.

i loosen the neck adjuster, stick it all the way in touching the hole (just touching and not shoving into the hole), tighten the adjuster down and go to town. if its not getting everything, then redo this process again with the same case you just cut.

Note: make sure all your brass is cut to the same length as that is what the tool is going off of. if the case is longer then it wont cut anything or not enough. if it is too short then it will be cutting too much.

all you are wanting to do is take off any burrs that are on the inside of the flash hole. thats it. i sometimes get a few long strings of brass that come out but nothing major.

Thanks for the input. What really surprised me is how much larger the flash hole appears once it has been deburred. But I compared it with a piece of virgin brass and it appears to be right.
