Hello,
I have all but given up my search for a Left Hand AI AXMC. However, I will be getting one of the new series of rifles coming out whenever they release them in left hand, so likely in a few years. In the interim, I am looking for a LH rifle. The way I see it: I either buy an AT, but am stuck with a short action cartridge but getting a factory gun with decent resale when/if I dump it when the new LH AI comes out, go custom and get a long action to shoot 300 win mag, which would more than likely be the caliber I’d get in the new AI. I will be running suppressed and will have to have NV mounting options. I do like the shorter bolt throw of the AI, but recognize that there are some custom actions with similar bolt throws. I realize this question is vague, and am not looking into starting specific caliber, stock vs chassis, etc. discussions. Basically, the debate is: go factory AI where I would have the most similar in function/feel to the new AI I will eventually get, but be restrained to only a SA, or sacrifice the familiarity of the AI and be open to any caliber I wanted, but could find something almost as good as the AI for potentially same/less $ that would be suitable to hold me over.
