Hello and thank you for any suggestions on what I should do would be greatly appreciated. I seem to be kinda weird in the respect that I do some things right handed and some things left handed. Regarding shooting a rifle, I have always shot left handed using a right handed rifle. It has never posed an issue for me, until now. I have been studying long range precision shooting and recently realized that I am right eye dominant. I also see much better with my right eye. I am not sure what I should do. Should I switch and re-learn the fundamentals and start shooting right handed if my objective is to be the most accurate that I can be? It obviously feels a little strange holding a rifle right handed, but if I can see better with the right eye and most likely shoot more accurately doing this right handed, should I switch after 30 years shooting left handed?
Thank you for your support! Much Appreciated.

I was in the same situation as you and I switched. It was extremely awkward at first. But in retrospect I'm glad I did. I still shoot my pistols left handed though but use my right eye for aiming.

Same boat.

I've heard it's possible to switch dominant eye with training but has never posed an issue for me so I have not researched.

I'm right handed and left eye dominant. I shoot both eyes open for everything except skeet and sporting clays. I trained my right eye to pick up the site on both pistols and scoped rifles. You can train your eye, it just takes time.

I have the same problem, just opposite eye/side and do not feel it has ever held me back. Unless you are talking about a severe difference, just continue to shoot whatever feels best. Doesn't hurt to learn to shoot right handed as it's always a worthwhile skill to be able to switch back and forth. I shoot with both eyes open and even when shooting left handed I don't notice a real difference other than I'm not as proficient left handed.

I am also right eye dominant but left handed. I shoot my rifles (and pistols) left handed. I have no issues using my left eye to shoot, probably as a result of doing it for years. Using a scoped rifle I have always shot both eyes open, and have a very easy time acquiring targets. Also shot IPSC for several years with both red dot and iron sights, no issues for me.
I would only consider switching if my left eye had issues focusing. I do have a friend who recently did just that - his non dominant eye got progressively worse with age to the point he had difficulty establishing a focused picture (even through a quality scope). Surprisingly it took him very little time to feel comfortable switching from right hand to left hand shooting.
