Leica 8x56 Geovid "R" Binocular/Rangefinder (Yards)

Excellent Bino/Rangefinder - Great for Spotting/Hunting. I like the 15x for spotting but for the hunt and low light, these 8x56s are a bit more compact and have a larger field of view inside of 600 yards, but with the excellent glass can still see animals at great distances.

Love them but it took me 13 years to draw an out of state tag for the Rockies for elk hunt and keeping them on the shelf for another 13 years will not do. My eyes are getting old and I really like that both eye pieces can be adjusted for each eye.

What the web says:

Leica fuses the image quality of a large-objective fully multi-coated optic with the usefulness of a 1200-yard laser rangefinder and integrated ballistics calculator to create their 8x56 Geovid R Binocular/Rangefinder. Using an infrared laser rangefinder and a built-in inclinometer, the on-board computer adjusts the displayed range for more precise shot placement when shooting up or downhill, and an in-view 4-character LED display allows the observer to view the range without having to take their eyes off the subject. This version of the Geovid displays distances in yards and is controlled with a convenient single pushbutton.

Complementing its ranging qualities, the Geovid sports oversized 56mm objective lenses and Leica's proprietary anti-reflection lens coatings to boost light transmission, improving color and contrast, even at long distances. With its expansive exit pupil, excellent low-light performance during the pre-dawn and post-dusk hours extends its usability, helping you better see where, and when the game is hiding. Protecting the optics and electronics is a lightweight and durable aluminum alloy chassis that is nitrogen-filled for fogproof and waterproof performance in extreme conditions. It is wrapped in a protective armor that also provides a slip-resistant grip, especially in cold and wet weather.

Free bump because I can't believe these are still here....... looking for any trades or straight sale?

They are awesome so not too worried if they don't sell. Only selling because I could use the cash for other items I spent money and don't know when I'll get a tag for hunting, if it's on points it will be 13 more years.

- These 8x56 Geovids, they are the best for carrying on the hunt and that what I will do with them on my next hunt if I still have them. Just the right power and big objectives to let the light in, yet fairly compact with top quality glass and rangefinder.

- I love the 15x56 Geovids for spotting, they are awesome for that, used them on elk hunts and could see elk no one else in the party could see with their 10x 8x 7x binos. It is really nice to tell if it's a bedded down Elk or a rock/stump. The 15x56 are just a bit big for a hiking hunt even though I have packed them for several years. I went to the 8x56 for a smaller compact size and to have more field of view inside of 600 yards.

I am glad to keep these but since the chances of getting another non-resident elk draw, I would rather they go to someone who can use them to get a kill. These are a awesome bino/rangefinder and account slope (ERH function). 56 mm Objective really lets the light in, not just talking rate or % of light transmission but because it has a larger Objective it will take more in because of the surface area than smaller objective lenses. If you like to hunt in slope areas or like to see things as the light is coming up - these would work great for you.
