Like new, only used both for 1 day before returning the 3500.com. Since the 2800 and the 3500 share the same body, I'd assume they both will work for either.

Tripod mount is machined well and is a snug fit, so you cannot use the neoprene cover in conjunction with the tripod mount.

Neoprene cover is a little cheesy but it works well and protects the front.

No it will not, at least not easily. If you really pushed it in and stretched the cover thin it might, but I never tried.
