Can a Harris bipod be installed on this? I haven't heard good things about versa pods.

Call Les Baer and determine on what adaptor they are using. If it has a picatinney then just get an adaptor like LaRue or ARMS for the for the Harris, if is a swivel then it should fit directly. Morethan likely whatever adaptor just screws onto the tube rail.
