I have been studying some of the people I have seen in the news and on a few talk shows and I think I have learned a few things that I would like to apply in this forum.

There are a number of things I have wanted that I feel would make me a lot happier if they were in my possession. Among those are a Pinzgauer 712 M, 100 or more acres of forested land in Southern Missouri on the Black River, a fourth generation night scope and goggles, and a couple of other things that I'll refrain from mentioning. As I said, I think I would be a lot happier if I Iowned these things. However, I really don't think I should have to work the hours necessary to earn the money to buy them. So, I would like everyone who reads this to contact me via PM to get an address where you can send me the money I need to get them. Or, if some of you are fairly well off perhaps you can just buy these things for me and then have them shipped to me.

Things are nice insofar as they go. But approaching 68, and having seen far too much of this decaying world, Im finding that the less things I have the more free I am. I spent a lot of years collecting things, and have some damn nice ones. While nice, things can easily bring bondage in many fashions.

Most of the spiritual texts speak of this place.

Having, not faith, but certain knowledge that life continues beyond the passing of the physical body, gives an understanding not reasily available to most. It has nothing to do with any god, nor religion. This is not religion. The critical question at this point becomes, what have you made of this portion, and what will you carry into the next. You cant take your things, so what do you take?

Maggot I understand your points. However, as a capitalistic hedonist I hold to different standards (well, they're kind of like standards). They say money can't buy happieness, but they ain't giving that stuff away. And if I may digress to a bit of reality. I have been rich ad I have been very poor (homeless). I liked rich better.

I wasnt speaking of being poor. Its nice to know where the next meal is coming from. What I meant was the pursuit of things just for the sake of pursuing things. There are better things to pursue...like honor, freedom, and perhaps forgiveness.
