Hi Guys, need to compare my drops on my 7mm Dakota caliber custom rifle to any of the 7mm's doing the same approximate speeds as mine?
Heres my stats, I am shooting the 180gr Berger Hybrid, I have metplat trimmed them and pointed them with the Hoover pointing die.
My speed is 2970fps avg, 200 yrd zero, shot at 900 meters or 984 yards, my real drop is 21.25MOA and windage is 5.5MOA, elvation is 400ft at that target range, temp was 38 degrees, baro pressure 29.50 approx, humidity 80%.
How does this compare to your guys drops with the 180gr Berger's whether they are vld's or hybrid's?
Thanks
Elmer

VLD g1 = 0.659
Hyb g1/g7 = .674/.345

Trimmed and pointed G1 on the VLD is 0.675 from Steve123's tests out to 1500yd.

Without doing anything to the Hybrids I found them to be spot on the above value shooting them at 2800-2900 MV's out to about a mile.

I'm shooting 180 VLD's in a 7WSM at 2960fps. 200yd zero and I'm needing 23.5MOA to get to 1050yds. This is at 2200ft, temp around 70 F. Humidity at 18%.
Where you guys getting the Hybrids?

Thx, Sinclair should have them.
But one thing I noticed in my gun with the 180gr Berger hybryd's is that I get pressure signs earlier, compared to the same load with the 180 gr Vld's, like I lose about 75fps, but the Hybrids are very accurate out 1000yards where I have shot them, if I do my part and conditions are really good half moa is achievable.

I bought my hybrids direct from Berger about 6 months ago. I bought 2600 at the time (all that was on the shelf) so I haven't had to get more recently.

When compared to the VLD's I noticed that the Hybrids definitely like a jump in my rifles, NOT a jam. Both accuracy and speed suffered with a jam.
