Rifle Scopes Leupold 12-40X60 HD Spotter?

What are your opinions of the HD 12-40X60 Leupold Spotting Scope?

What would you compare it to? Is $1,020 a good price for a new one?

Notice that it came in 9th out of 9 scopes in its price class. It's not the HD version, but you have a clue here.

I have one of the leupold 12-40x60 spotters & I like it. yes, there are other spotters better. Mine is NOT the HD but has served well. Some days these tired eyes can spot the hits at 1K on STEEL and some days I couldn't cut the mirage with anything !! I also don't get my info from a birder organization. Maybe I should ??? yep, sure would like to know what scope works best dealing with Alabama mirage in July looking for 30 caliber hits on steel at 1,000 yds. Do you think "Living Bird" spots anything at 1,00 yds ??

I have the HD version and have been very happy with it. The optics are crystal clear and the resolution top notch.

I'm stuck with the 12-40x60 with TMR... It seems to work most days in central texas.
