Rifle Scopes Leupold M3 3-10x question

We used those on our m26's, thats a highly accurized 231 port firing weapon. Probably wont find any good reference to them because of how secretive our ops were when we used them, you know those ops that are blacker than black

Leupold's 3.5-10x40mm is used mainly on the M110, mostly with the m2 turrets, but your M3 3.5-10x40mm also has an NSN number, so it could be bought and issued by Big Green. I've also seen pictures of 3.5-10x40mm on Army versions of the MK12

NSN 1240-01-552-3720:
Leupold scope MARK 4 3.5-10x40mm LR/T M3 rifle scope

3.5-10 m3 mk4 were issued on spr mk12 variants before the contract was awarded to nf. Almost all the early m110s came with a similar mk4 from what I was told.

It really depends on which branch of service that used the MK12's and which scope was issued. The Navy (SOCOM) one's got Nightforce. The Marines got Leupold's TS30A2's (First, 3-9x36mm, then 2.5-8x36MM now designated TS30A2 ). The Army got the big MK4's LR/T and later the MR/T's.

From MK12.net:

Due to the relative modularity of the system, optics (as well as almost everything else) can be mounted per the operator's wishes, however, this weapon system is most often seen with a 3.5–10×40 mm Leupold LR M3 (SPR/A), a 2.5–8×36 mm TS-30 (SPR/B), or a 3–9×36 mm TS-30 A2 (Mk 12 Mod 0/1) Mid Range/Tactical Illuminated Reticle Dayscope (civilian versions are known as the Leupold Mark 4 MR/T 3–9×36). Night vision devices can also be attached. These scopes usually come with flip open dust covers and a honeycomb anti-glare anti-reflection device (ARD). Given Nightforce Optics' recent NAVSPECWAR contract, it is believed that many NAVSPECWAR issued SPRs will use the Nightforce 2.5-10x24 NXS scope.

Yes, absolutely. The Leupold 3.5-10x with M3 turrets (1 click = 1 MOA) were the first scopes on the Mk12 Mod0. Most of the Mk12s had the TS30 and TS30 A2, like this: https://charliescustomclones.com/search?q=TS30 , then some upgraded to a Nightforce NXS 3.5-15x or the NXS 2.5-10x compact scope. The black scope you have is still widely available, but sought after. The TS30, TS30-A1 and TS30-A2 (model 112633) are very much collector's items.

I have not seen the TS30 in "circulation" in a long time. The only issue with the Leupold 112633 is that the BDC cap reads "Mk12 Mod1." which of course leaves you wondering where the cap is for the Mod0.

Wow, this one with VJJPunisher! These are some amazingly old posts, but it's cool to see some of these names. Certainly brings back memories.
