Rifle Scopes Leupold mark 5hd 5-25x56

Hello from New Zealand, long time reader, first post.

I'm about to get a bergara hmr 6.5 creedmoor. 24in barrel.

I'll like some info on the leupold mark5 HD 5-25x56 tmr

Rifle will be used for 1000y+ steel shooting and some long range prs style competition.

Question : is this scope suitable for that?
Enough elevation?
Do I need a 20moa rail etc?

Open to other suggestions,
Budget of $2000,can be stretched to £
$2.500 if really worth it.

Definitely have to be mil/mil with a simple reticle as the tmr, milr etc

Yes I would definitely recommend a 20MOA rail for what you want to do with it. When dialing out to 1000+ it will keep the scope closer to its mechanical center even if you don't really need it for that much elevation.
