Maybe some education is in order. The 5.56 version of this scope has a reticle drop to 900m. The 7.62 version of this scope is calibrated for drops to 1200m.
Up to 500 yards, the difference between the two reticles in practical field shooting is always 1.0 moa OR LESS. (The CMR-W reticle is designed for a 200 yard zero). From 0-300 yards the drops are indistinguishable and from 300-500 yards in the WORST CASE you might have 1.0 moa difference at those ranges. That means at 500 yards if you use this 7.62 reticle Mark 6 on your .223 the difference in impact could be 5 inches at 500 yards. For a COMBAT optic, this is still going to get the job done!
In some cases (Federal 69 and 77 grain .223 and 175 grain .308 for example) the drops to 500 yards are virtually identical. The difference is you can use the 7.62 reticle out the .308's practical limits. Most aren't going to rely on their .223 to defend hearth and home beyond 500 yards.
So, if you can only afford one of these new Lupy Mark 6 1-6x the CMR-W 7.62 gives you the most versatility.
Do the research yourself, no need to take my word for it.
The new Mark 6 is a state of the art dedicated semi-auto battle rifle optic.
