Anyone here purchased one of the Leupold Mark AR scopes. I am looking real hard at a 6X18 for a barn yard ground hog rifle on my 223 Encore.

Not really interested in how indestructible the scope is. This scope will be babied. I am more interested in what you think about the new scope itself?? As well as the short distance tracking of the scope out to 350 or 400 yards?? Tom.

Re: Leupold Mark AR scope

I have 2 6-18 mark 2 tracking is great, opticaly they are good for the cost. They are limited to about 56 moa of adjustment but that should be more than enough for your intended use.

+1, I've got the same scope and I'm very please with it too.

Re: Leupold Mark AR scope

I was never really happy with my 3-9 mark AR - it was okay but not great, 6-18 might be better though. I have a nikon 6-18 on my varmint 223 and it works great. Another option would be a used leupold 6.5-20. The only downside with either of those is that you wouldn't have the BDC knob functionality.

Re: Leupold Mark AR scope

I called Doug yesterday before I ordered my new Leupold. And he talked me into one of the new 3-15X Minox scopes. I bought the one with the side focus and 50mm. I did not care to much about the 50mm but I think the side focus will work out pretty well. 15X was more than enough power(probably a bit too much). And for a close range rifle that might get used for some coyote calling the 3X might work out pretty well. So I guess this changed to a who knows about the Minox scope thread!!
