Recently purchased a used Leupold Mk4 M3 for a clone. Sent it in the Leupold when I couldn't get the rifle zeroed (Scope was high and bottomed out prematurely). Came back fixed and was able to get it zeroed, but now the elevation turret is working backwards (may have been from the start, I have no idea).

When I turn the knob to the setting for 200m or 300m the elevation drops. I don't think its a fake, Leupold accepted it for warranty work. Scope dates to the 90's like 93 I think. Scope seems to track well was able to run it out shooting the gongs out 400 and back just had to ignore the markings on the turret and rezeroed fine.

So what I am asking is: Am I zeroing it wrong? Is the knob fake or wrong? Could the erectors have been changed at some point? What is happening? Would Leupold not recognize a fake scope? I am really hoping its me and being unfamiliar with the scope.

I have a spare m3 turette and its numbered tge opposite direction… The spare was stuck in the box when leupold shipped the scope back. The turret mounted on it was sent mounted on the scope. Just change the turrets and its good, but is it fake?
