Not trying to start a does it work or not thread.

I tried to search but all I found was works / doesn't work banter.

My question is how does the varmint hunters reticle work through the magnification range of a scope. For example, if I were to get a VX-III 8.5-25, How would the reticle work at 10x compared to 25x? I can't find anything that says they are FFP, so if they are not wouldn't the "hold overs" be way offat different magnification powers? Are they pre-set to be on at a certain power?

Or, have I answered my own question and this is part of the reason why they don't work.

Re: Leupold Varmint Reticle magnification

There are indicator marks on the power dial and a book to go with it.
Scope is SFP.

Re: Leupold Varmint Reticle magnification

IN the instructions there is a place on how to tune the magnification/Hackmarks to your load/rifle.I had one and overall I liked it.

They are preset to be at a certain power. I have 6.5x20, need to use 14 power on mine to work right. They are not FFP.
