Plunk down my $600 and get a reticle with a deformity, would this be acceptable ? or am I be a nit picker ?

I would return it whenever it was most convenient for me assuming everything else works.

I would return it for sure. It may not bother you, but if you ever want to sell it you're going to take a beating on the resale price you can ask for it.

Return it. They need to know which kid screwed up painting the reticle so they can give him lashes.

Are these reticles really painted ?

I'm going to send it back to Leupold, but this is bullshit, how does something so evident make it past QC check points ?

I believe they are laser etched..... Although you can't tell by that pic.

I'd be pissed each and every time I looked through it. Resale value is a good point as well. No matter how much time it takes to exchange it, you'll forget the wait 10 minutes after you starting shooting the replacement optic!
