Rifle Scopes Leupold VX-R Patrol. Made in USA?

Re: Leupold VX-R Patrol. Made in USA?

This comes up from time to time. Here's what we know:

Lupy does not mark their scopes with "Made in ....."

Lupy does import at least some of their scopes

Lupy does have extraordinary custom modification/manufacture capability in-house

The rest seems to be rumor or conjecture. I've asked personally a few times and got a different answer every time, as does the local store rep here.

Bottom line, Lupy is still an American family owned company, and if they were to 100% make their scopes in house they wouldn't be at the price they are offered

I recently purchased the scope the OP references. It is very nice. No complaints. I half expected the box/scope to say Made somewhere overseas, because of the price. However, there is no Made in... marking on box or scope at all. Overall happy with the purchase though.

I just got a Leupy VX-R 3-9X Patrol from Scott. Great little scope and highly recommend Liberty Optics. Love the VX-R illumination. In the 1-4X line, if you want a true 1X on the low end, the Leupold VX-R doesn't do it @ 1.25X. Check out the Burris MTAC 1-4X for your price range. They are $399 and really liked by the 3gun shooters. Nothing else really in your price range unless you can find a used Meopta Kdot 1-4X or a Burris XTR. The Weaver 1-3X is also a great little scope if you really want to save some jing, but no illumination.

I love mine, great glass for the price. They finally seemed to have gotten the issues with lighting worked out; automatic shut off, bright in daytime, one button on and off. The mil/mil is nice, wish it was front focal but not a deal breaker.

Re: Leupold VX-R Patrol. Made in USA?

Well what I think I want is a low magnification scope that I can use for hold overs with 300 blackout.

Other choices would be the Viper PST or even the Falcon 1.5-5.
I'm liking the PST because it's 1x and the Falcon as it's less than half of the others.

But if the Leupold was a true USA product that could be favorable.

I wanted a vortex but got tired of waiting for them to come back in stock. The falcon looks good, I like the reticle, capped turrents, but the weight, its to heavy.
