Rifle Scopes Leupold VX-R wind plex fire dot

I looking at the Leupold VXR either 3-9X50 or the 4-12 X 50 in the fire dot wind plex reticle, and am looking for opinions pro and con on these scopes, I manly will be used for hunting and some steel banging out to 600 for starters, don't know if I will ever get farther than that do to the age of my eyes, thank you for your input

I looked really hard at those scopes a few weeks ago, ended up with a Minox ZX5i 2.5-10X50, because Euro Optic had a fantastic sale going on. If you get one post up a review.
