Rifle Scopes Leveling a scope in Geissele mount

I generally like to use the "feeler gauge" method of leveling the scope within a mount. However, in Geissele mounts the vertical support is rather narrow and I find the scope angles left and right even when I press it down. Are there any tips or alternate techniques that I may have missed?

I use a sliding caliper to level the flat of the adjustment saddle to the flats of the geissele mount.
